Job Description

Purpose:

The Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting in the preparation of compliance, payments, audits and correspondence related to Bluegreen's income and franchise taxes in various jurisdictions. Responsibilities revolve around tax demands at the Federal, state and local levels. The core responsibility of this position is to prepare all income and franchise tax related items in an effective and efficient manner while following Bluegreen's tax reporting processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparation of all annual income and franchise tax returns at the Federal, state and local levels.
• Assist in preparation of all quarterly estimated income and franchise tax payments including any tax sharing payments to BBX.
• Assist in preparation of annual Federal, state and local income and franchise tax extensions.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly provision.
• Assist in preparation of year end provision.
• Assist in preparation of supporting calculations and schedules related to the income tax provision and returns such as 453 interest and installment sales.
• Prepare responses to various income and franchise tax notices and correspondence.
• Compile documentation and reports related to Federal, state and local income and franchise tax audits.
• Analyze change in income and franchise tax laws and applicability to Bluegreen's operational model.

Job Requirements

• CPA Highly Desirable; Bachelor of Science in Accounting Required
• A minimum of oner year experience in private or public Federal and State Corporate Tax environment
• Strategic business vision and planning; management techniques; negotiation techniques; associate management techniques; communication techniques, productivity and performance management techniques; budget techniques; quality management; strategic customer relationship skills; OneSource; MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access; Internet Explorer; Company’s intranet system; corporate policies and procedures.
