Job Description

Christmas Mountain Village is seeking a knowledgeable Golf Course Superintendent. The Superintendent is responsible for all phases of the overall operation and maintenance of the golf course in the summer season, during the winter season the Superintendent will book group and workshops for golfers as well as plan for the maintenance of the course and upcoming season.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities
 Supervise and direct all employees within the department, including but not limited to the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, Irrigation Technicians, Clubhouse/Common Area Supervisor, Wetland and Native Area Biologist, Equipment Maintenance Specialist, and General Golf Course Maintenance Staff.
 Personnel management: participate in and recommend hiring of golf course staff and provide daily supervision including job training, assignments, performance appraisals, workforce development and establishing priorities to ensure the success of the golf course maintenance crew. Provide disciplinary action as needed.
 Make decisions related to chemical applications and purchase of necessary products for golf course maintenance.
 Uphold and maintain company policies and procedures as well as specific procedures related to golf course maintenance.
 Golf course maintenance: oversee day-to-day care and maintenance of golf course grounds and irrigation systems, by including, but not limited to, mowing, edging, mulching, planting, trimming, and shoveling.
 Administration: purchasing; inventory supplies; assist with project management and priorities; maintain logs; prepare specialized plans, reports and audits; ensure relevant safety codes and regulations are followed.
 Equipment Maintenance: inspect and maintain all equipment and tolls related to the performance of job duties

Job Requirements

1 – Minimum Formal Education: At least one year of post-secondary technical training is required
2 – Minimum Experience: Previous experience as a Head Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
for a minimum of 2 years.
3 – Essential Training, Knowledge, Licenses and /or Certifications: Agronomic and turf grass techniques.
4 – Essential Professional Skills/Competencies: Team Leadership, Independent in Decision Making.
Must have a valid driver's license with a clear history
