The Vice President, Product Development is responsible for executing and managing all aspects of the Company’s product/program development efforts from initial concept to implementation, along with managing ongoing vendor renewals, and providing operational support. These efforts are performed for start-up projects and enhancements to existing programs.

The VP interacts with every department within the organization, requiring a detailed and organized individual who can lead and manage projects in an complex and evolving environment. They will lead research efforts, formalize and present recommendations, lead negotiations, and ultimately direct the management of the relationship with vendors used for achieving company initiatives.

The focus of the role is on the development of the division’s strategic goals for the year, while working on all initiatives identified in the 5-year plan. They will lead the team members to be able to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating critical thinking and decision making skills in order to identify issues affecting the delivery of new products and program enhancements while using a standardized process to make sure that communication effectively flows to all essential channels. Will lead the Innovation committee to generate ideas and associate engagement. VP will partner with the PMO to work with the Executive Team to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.


• Manages, develops and implements new initiatives, programs and alliances, or changes to existing programs from inception through launch.
• Leads research and development programs and activities to facilitate introduction of new programs or processes or recommend improvements to existing programs or processes.
• Identifies and prioritizes with executive team prospective value-added benefits for Bluegreen Vacation Club programs and other programs as requested.
• Facilitates the information-gathering process and summarizes departmental feedback on strategic and operational implications of new products, benefits and services including the impact on existing membership programs, ownership, etc.
• Analyzes various pricing and consumption models to maximize Company profitability.
• Manages or assists with negotiation of benefits and services with vendors and completes contract process coordination for benefits and new product lines.
• Leads the creation of master timeliness for product integration and provides project management for all new programs, program enhancements, FBS/JIT installations, sales centers, and strategic alliances, delivering results at defined stages throughout the launch process.
• Leads the communication, coordination and collaboration with internal stakeholders including securing alignment, overcoming objections, gathering data, presenting findings, managing timelines, and ensuring compliance to the project plan.
• Leads the management of vendor relationships including communicating project requirements, reviewing the MSA/SOW, managing expectations, timelines, communication flow, and deliverables, and managing the ongoing relationship.
• Oversees deliverables with all internal department resources and external consultants working on program development, sales center deliverables, and FBS Client initiatives.
• Monitors and reports on initial post-launch results in terms of: consumption, sales activity, customer and associate feedback, customer service issues, etc., making appropriate recommendations for enhanced productivity.
• Oversees the coordination of the design of training and implementation plans including scripting, presentations, communication tools and reporting for all applicable employees, members, partners, etc.
• Provides ongoing support, vendor management and program management for various programs which may include recommending and implementing program and process enhancements, marketing updates, contract review and renegotiation, performance tracking, etc.
• Ensures that the project methodology incorporates structures, standards, processes, documentation and reporting that fits the needs of the project and puts emphasis on quality decision making and timely project delivery
• Contributes to the development of approved business plans, operating plans, budgets and capital expenditure requests in line with Bluegreen strategic goals and objectives
• Leads the establishment and management of processes supporting the project sponsors, streamlining communications between stakeholders, project sponsors and project managers and driving the meaningful and efficient debate of priorities and resource availability
• Maintains processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete
• Assists in the monitoring and communication on the project status including actual vs budget, variances, project risks, key decisions, change management, etc.
• Delivers the results of submitted reports as required by the project sponsor or executive team.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
Minimum of 7-10 years of related experience and a proven track record with strategic alliances and program development in the Vacation Ownership, Real Estate, Travel Club or Hospitality Industries.
Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and programs, strong proficiency with computer applications, such as MS Office Suite.
Understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project management
Proven experience in providing service to internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
Understanding of project delivery and acceptance processes within a fast-paced business environment
Customer service and quality fundamentals.
Must possess exceptional project management and interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial nature.
Must enjoy a constant challenge in a fast-paced work environment, be focused on the bottom line and able to react quickly to ever changing market conditions and business development needs.
Excellent communication and analytical skills, leadership ability, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Must have technical aptitude to compliment a strategic outlook to any project. Strong ability to think strategically and analyze information timely and accurately.
Possess ability to engage team members to cooperate and collaborate as needed to achieve the ultimate results strong interpersonal communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of the organization
