Job Description

Position Summary:
To provide accurate and timely financial statements and other analyses in order for management to make good business decisions about the operation of the resorts.

• Provide and analyze accurate and timely financial statements for multiple associations
• Daily analysis and monitoring of cash position
• Analyze and document budget variances related to profit and loss statements
• Prepare and analyze all balance sheet reconciliations for multiple associations and resolve differences
• Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Meet normal weekly and monthly deadlines within scheduled hours and overtime maybe required.
• Complete all tax, sales tax and unclaimed property filings when applicable
• Prepare and analyze annual property taxes
• Prepare and analyze bank reconciliations
• Verify accounts payable postings and accounts receivable
• Research and resolve outstanding accounts receivable
• Assist in annual budget process
• Assist in the preparation of cash flow projections and developer subsidy requests
• Prepare year-end audit packages and interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits
• Participate in training of new associates
• Participate in cross-training sessions to become familiar with all associations
• Be dedicated to meeting the expectations of both internal and external “customers”
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with department co-workers, resort contacts, other Bluegreen departments, vendors and other agencies
• Special projects and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum Formal Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum Experience:
• A minimum of 4-5 years of Accounting experience
• Essential Training/Knowledge/Licenses/Certifications:
• Specific for the position and/or area + Knowledge of GAAP; outstanding skill level with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer. Experience in Great Plains is preferred.
• Essential Professional Skills:
Independent, self-starter, strong analysis capabilities. Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills to effectively communicate with resorts, vendors, co-workers and other agencies. Must be a team player. Must be detail oriented. Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines. Experienced at making sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
