Job Description


The Accountant – HOA provides accurate and timely financial statements and other analyses to management to lends assistance for business decisions related to the operation of the resorts. They prepare and review accounting journal entries and reconciliations. The Accountant assists with audits as requested, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal laws.


• Provides and analyzes accurate and timely financial statements for multiple associations.
• Analyzes and documents budget variances related to profit and loss statements.
• Prepares and analyzes all balance sheet reconciliations for multiple associations and resolve differences.
• Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Completes all tax, sales tax and unclaimed property filings when applicable.
• Prepares and analyzes annual property taxes.
• Prepares and analyzes bank reconciliations.
• Verifies accounts payable postings and accounts receivable.
• Prepares payroll for Vacation Trust Board of Directors.
• Researches and resolves outstanding accounts receivable.
• Assists in annual budget process.
• Assists in the preparation of cash flow projections and developer subsidy requests.
• Prepares year-end audit packages and interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
• Participates in training of new associates.
• Participates in cross-training sessions to become familiar with all associations.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
4-5 years accounting experience

Knowledge of GAAP; outstanding skill level with MSOffice Suite. Experience in Great Plains is preferred.
Independent, self-starter, strong analysis capabilities. Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills to effectively communicate with resorts, vendors, co-workers and other agencies.
Must be a team player. Must be detail oriented.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proven experienced at making sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
