Job Description


The Senior Manager, Software Engineering will spearhead, oversee, and assist in managing and optimizing Bluegreen’s Application Lifecyle Management (ALM) practices including SDLC, Support, and DevOps in an Agile/Scrum environment. The Senior Manager should have an in-depth knowledge of Agile/SCRUM framework and working experience in the traditional SRCUM ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Demos, and Sprint Retrospectives along with the corresponding tools used to managed the process. This role is responsible for collaborating with the respective business
stakeholders, software development teams, and vendors in ensuring well-defined user stories and the prioritization of the product backlog in support of the overall business strategy while ensuring best practices for application development are being followed.

This role is a combination of strategic and tactical thinking backed by an in-depth knowledge of the appropriate metrics and KPIs to measure continuous improvements in our processes and a proven track record of delivering complex
software solutions. The Senior Manager will dive deep into the understanding of problems in order to assist the team in making the right technical decisions for the solutions and the business. This position will be responsible for mentoring the team and developing their career paths.


• Provides overall technical leadership to development teams as well as, collaborates with architects and the business to ensure solutions are developed with ALM best practices
• Works with IT Operations in developing a DevOps strategy for the builds and deployment of software solutions including assisting in picking the right tools
• Vendor management, existing and new
• Responsible for deliverables including, but not limited to: ALM process, release schedule, product roadmap, prioritized backlog, user stories, product documentation, release budgeting and forecasting, and status reports.
• Ensure processes are well documented and followed
• Bridges communications between the business and IT teams and takes full ownership of the product development lifecycle in line with Agile principles
• Works closely with Developers to deliver high-quality solutions in a timely manner
• Supports applications/solutions in production
• Defines and maintains the application backlog in TFS according to agreed stakeholder priorities
• Ensures that applicable Application Support Process policies are followed within the release process
• Inspects the product progress at the end of every Sprint and has complete authority to accept or reject work done
• Forecasting and budgeting for releases
• Provides timely communication to Business stakeholders about any relevant events, escalations, etc.
• Prepares weekly status reports and documentation related to each active release
• Conduct task/resource management and allocation throughout the release process in Clarizen
• Validates submitted timesheets to ensure resource adherence to assigned tasks
• Works with technical teams to ensure that any roadblocks are properly addressed
• Evaluates risk (scope, timelines, resources) and escalate to IT management as needed
• Participates in any UAT related meetings as requested by the QA team
• Facilitates deployment planning meetings
• Works with technical teams and stakeholders to create release schedule/strategy proposal for the following year
• Validates adherence to applicable governance and compliance regulations and policies

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field
• 10+ years of IT/software development experience in either a software company or internal IT
• 5+ years of progressive management experience
• 4+ years of Agile/SCRUM
• Experience using TFS, Jira, Confluence or comparable tool and FootPrints/ServiceNow ticketing systems
• PMP or CSM is a plus
• .Net, SOA architecture, SOAP/REST, SQL Server, Responsive UI frameworks
• Sitecore knowledge is good to have but not required
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
• Software deployment automation with tools such as Jenkins, Octopus,
• Business Requirements Gathering
• Application Lifecycle Management, SLC, Support, and DevOps
• Traditional & Agile PM Methodologies
• Project Planning, Scheduling, Tracking, & Reporting
• Risk & Issue Planning (Identification, Mitigation, Resolution)
• Presentation Skills (Management level)
• Change Management (Configuration)
• Excellent Written & Oral Communication Skills
• Strong Diagnostic & Analytical Capabilities
• MS Office Suite
• Travel & Hospitality Experience desired but not required
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Ability to identify issues quickly and facilitate discussion for resolution, as well as identify risks and develop proper mitigation plans
• Ability to prepare formal management presentations, along with organizing and conducting effective meetings
• Ability to provide assistance and guidance to team members
