Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Public Relations and Communications, the Senior Public Relations, Community Engagement, and Philanthropy Specialist will help support Bluegreen’s internal/external communications strategy, manage key public relations efforts, including PR agency, special events, key media-genic initiatives and activations, and micro and macro-influencer programs. Additionally, this person will develop, oversee end execute all Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, in line with the company’s vision, social pillars, and overall business goals. The Senior PR Specialist will also formulate internal PR plans, in conjunction with PR agency plans, and devise and oversee a robust Internal Communications and CEO engagement program.

Responsibilities:

• Manage internal/external events, from inception to execution, for high visibility programs, as well as coordinate on-site event planning and execution (i.e. new resort/product openings, television shoots, concert events, awards ceremonies and other special events).
• Plan PR solutions such as product launches, media relations, radio remotes, and special events, as well as conduct research and craft messaging, as it pertains to relevant business opportunities.
• Write press releases, CEO memos, key messages, scripts, etc. as it relates to internal/external programs.
• Manage Executive and company-wide blogs, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social channels.
• Oversee marketing relationships, such as the Florida Marlins, for optimal brand awareness and maximum PR and marketing opportunities.
• Maintain clear and consistent communications between Bluegreen and agency account team, and support agencies fulfillment needs and day-to-day requests.
• Work collaboratively with teams across the Bluegreen network to develop a robust Internal Comms program, ensuring that associates are kept informed and motivated by multi-channel communication, such as fireside chats, CEO breakfasts, resort videos, associate intranet or CMS landing page, email bulletins, social media, and regular newsletters.
• Foster CEO engagement across the corporate Bluegreen office, and resort/retail footprint, as it relates to thought leadership, CEO and E.C. messaging, unique programming, pulse studies, etc.
• Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation.
• Support cross-office communications needs and help further unique Bluegreen programs with PR appeal and a strong ROI
• Optimize yearly calendar of media visits, resort openings, sales center unveilings, and special events that reflect current top projects and initiatives.
• Organize press related events, including press conferences and announcements, as well as on-site press events at the resorts, and accompany individual or group press trips when needed.
• Create and oversee destination and regional PR management team for on-resort/in-destination support serving as an extension of Corporate PR Team.
• Seek out high profile consumer promotions and sponsorships, if appropriate, and conceptualize and strategize opportunities that align with our brand.
• Managing Bluegreen's corporate giving and volunteer programs, synchronizing the company’s philanthropic activities in support of the company’s 3 pillars, creating the company’s community footprint, including leading sponsorship and donation activities for maximum ROI, and supporting associate engagement.
• Contribute to the overall development and management of the company’s philanthropic and community relations strategies, including developing and strengthening good working relationships with internal and external business partners, encouraging leadership to participate in brand-propelling opportunities, and arranging events for associates to embrace, as well.
• Represent the company in all activities associated with volunteer activities and the community and seek out opportunities to maximize optics and branding.
• Help to form relationships in the foundation and business community, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporations to support on behalf of Bluegreen.
• Coordinate with Regional PR Manager’s to create a Bluegreen community social footprint in local opportunities, where branding is key and charity ties back with overarching company-wide theme.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Journalism, Marketing or related field
• 4-6 years of Public Relations and Communications experience required, along with excellent writing, speaking, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and the ability to travel up to 25%
• Capacity to work independently and with others, foster creative ideas in a team environment, operate as a self-starter, multi-task meticulously, work under high pressure within tight deadline situations, and work with minimal supervision
• Manage PR Coordinator position
• Ability to lead PR Agency relationship and assist Head of PR with special projects as needed
• Possess creativity, ingenuity, and vision, and the ability to maintain positive and consistent communications with cross-departmental teams
