Job Description


The Sr. Database Administrator manages database systems and ensures efficient operations surrounding Bluegreen’s applications. This is accomplished through participation in project teams following the standard development methodology. This position is also required to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors as well as exercising judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results. General supervision that is required for project direction will be provided either by the project leader or the manager. The individual must exercise his/her own judgment within loosely defined parameters in a dynamic environment.


• Provides assistance to the development team for new projects
• Supports the development team researching system related issues.
• Serves in the role of technical consultant for the department's .NET or Oracle developers
• Enforces SOX and PCI compliance for all data base related projects or enhancements
• In charge of access security
• Executes DDL and DLL related changes including the moving and dropping of databases, adding and changing SQL
• Identifies process improvements via version upgrades, new tools or reengineering of existing solutions
• Periodically applies Oracle / SQL server service packs and patches
• Sets up of database systems and are responsible for operational efficiency, maintenance plans, monitors, and optimizations
• Performs database performance tuning and data protection processes to ensure the data is available and maximizing all database uptime
• Drafts full technical documentation of the applications of database support environment
• Provides assistance to the project leader and/or engagement manager to establish project quality standards, monitor project status and maintain project plans on schedule
• Assists in the development of standards and procedures affecting data maintenance and management
• Monitors transaction activities and assists in optimizing the performance and utilization of databases
• Plans and tests Disaster Recovery and Fail-Over exercises;
• Performs assigned duties to complete during off hours within the department's established maintenance windows

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years experience in Business Analysis and Database Administration with Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2017,
• T-SQL and PL/SQL, SSIS / SSRS / SSAS and Oracle Version databases in a MS Windows 2012/2016 environment.
• Proficient with data dictionary tools, SQL integration and web applications, scripting, schemas, and stored procedures, reporting tools and other developmental tools to configure and support MS SQL and Oracle. MS SQL or Oracle certification a plus. Knowledge of databases operating in a MS Windows environment
• Proficient in monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Detail-Oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Results oriented with strong motivation and able to work well as a team member.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Project management skills.
• Working knowledge of PCI compliance.
