Job Description

Purpose: The purpose of the Food & Beverage Manager is to manage the daily operations of the Restaurant, Bar, Dining Room, Banquet Facilities and Beverage Cart, Activities and their coordination with other departments. This position is responsible for maintaining proper working relationships between the restaurant and all other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and managing a staff of up to 20 Associates.
  • Responsible for all disciplinary action, including termination, in accordance with established policies/procedures.
  • Manage monthly inventories, food and beverage ordering to maintain proper PAR levels, daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Maintain follow-through process on short-term and long term programs.
  • Manage the restaurant inventory to attain the highest yield per F&B objectives.
  • Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inventory checks.
  • Train F&B associates on proper ordering procedures.
  • Daily checks of all audits/closeouts to ensure all financial controls. Ensure all F&B SOP’s are being followed as outlined in the related manual.
  • Develop and maintain progress reports and program tracking for management review.
  • Ensure good Guest/Owner Relations, Reporting & Communication. Communicate programs and results to appropriate parties. Set up and track incentive program for F&B associates. Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Associate degree, two year technical certificate or required experience
  • 2 years minimum in Food and Beverage hospitality experience within a large high-end resort or hotel. Five years of management experience.
  • Must have knowledge of daily F&B operations, yield management and problem resolution. Needs the ability to supervise a staff of 20-30 associates. Must be PC proficient.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with associates and Guest/Owners. Must have follow-through process on short-term and long term programs, strategic thinking, business-oriented, results-oriented, decision
    maker, self-directed, self-starter, assertive, creative, strong analysis, evaluation, and planning capabilities, strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills, as well as to coach associates, make presentations for department meetings, and to interact with interface organizational areas, customers, vendors, etc.
