Job Description

The Assistant Maintenance Manager will assist in managing the resort maintenance/technical staff to effectively maintain all Resort facilities/equipment/property. Accountable for the safe and efficient maintenance of the resort through effective supervision of maintenance and technical service staff. Assist, as required in solving complex maintenance problems, and must be capable of rapid decision-making. Assists in the implementation of maintenance plans with consideration to operational and budgetary constraints. Supervise overall activities of the maintenance staff as required by the Resort Manager. The Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for assisting in the proper working relationships between the Maintenance staff and other departments. Must be able to work all shifts as need dictates.

• Associate management: Responsibilities include training and monitoring development of all staff. Assisting in appraisal of all staff as outlined in SOPs. Assist in the organization of monthly meetings and perform follow up to all staff.
• Scheduling inspections/repairs: Schedule and perform routine/preventive/emergency maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Work with other departments to schedule and co-ordinate inspections and repairs.
• Work Orders/Daily Projects: Complete work orders and daily projects reported by front desk and otherwise assigned during the shift. Follow up on maintenance technician jobs to insure quality of work.
• Guest/Owner Relations: Ensure the satisfaction of all guests by implementing and maintaining proper Guest/Owner relation programs. Maintain the maintenance follow-up log and respond to any guest/owner concerns in a timely manner.
• Planning/Development: Assist in development of new programs and ideas with Resort Manager. Communicate programs/ideas and results to appropriate parties. Establish both short and long term goals to enhance the department and the facility.
• Ensure all Maintenance SOP's are being followed as outlined in the SOP manual.
• Ensure all QA, Internal and Safety audit procedures are being followed.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 year Maintenance Supervisor experience
• 1 year of technical training or experience
• HVAC (A/C) and Refrigeration certification is preferred
• Knowledge of daily resort operations, budgetary constraints & problem resolution• Ability to interact with a wide range of people
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational and supervisory skills
• Ability to motivate, develop, and mentor staff
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
