Job Description

To provide accurate and timely financial information, maintain effective internal controls, safeguard resort assets, and lead on-site accounting processes. Assist accountants and accounting management with daily operations. Serve as liaison for accounting information initiated at site and accounting team in Boca Raton for financial statement preparation.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities

• Calculate staffing agency hours per associate.
• Ensure cash logs are correctly maintained and all cash is properly accounted for and reconciled.
• Oversee accounts payable function including confirming receipt of goods and services, ensuring accurate GL coding of invoices, obtaining proper approvals and verifying accurate input into the accounting application. Timely processing of invoices and preparation of corporate vouchers.
• Review inventory calculations for retail outlets and ensure accurately presented prior to sending to corporate accounting team for posting.
• Audit petty cash weekly and timely submit month end reconciliation report to Accounting.
• Prepare and reconcile safe deposits, including the monthly bank audits.
• Prepare and submit to accounting new vendor forms and address updates.
• Assist with responding to credit card disputes and chargebacks.
• Work with GM and department heads to maintain checkbooks.
• Assist Accounting with external audit requests.
• Assist department heads and Accounting in annual budget process.
• Be dedicated to meeting the expectations of both internal and external “customers”.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with department co-workers, resort contacts, other Bluegreen departments, vendors and other agencies.


Job Requirements

1 – Minimum Formal Education:
Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience with current enrollment in Accounting classes.

2 – Minimum Experience:
A minimum of 2 years accounting experience preferred.

3 – Essential Training, Knowledge, Licenses and /or Certifications:
Advanced skills in Excel and AS400. Proficient in MS Office.

4 – Essential Professional Skills/Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be an independent, self-motivated individual who is able to meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must also be able to multi-task.
