Purpose:

The BI Manager will have the exciting opportunity to lead a critical and high visibility platform for the Enterprise. This manager will be responsible for setting the strategy, vision and for managing the day-to-day tactical operations of the BI and data warehousing team. The manager will oversee the Business Intelligence solution including its architecture, reporting strategy, data quality and overall data warehousing footprint in/outside of the BI space. This person's primary responsibility will be to drive project and enhancement work whilst adhering to the long term BI and Enterprise roadmap.

The BI manager will establish strong business acumen, combined with the ability to introduce innovative solutions to complex problems. They will collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, develop rapport with key stakeholders and actively partner with various business teams, external vendors whilst also fostering a collaborate positive team environment for the technical resources. Experience with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence conceptual design is critical to this role.

Responsibilities:

• Manages the organization's data accessibility needs by presenting value-add strategies and supporting efforts to meet business intelligence and data warehousing objectives.
• Provide architecture guidance, seek out platform/solution efficiencies and promote business value in all requests.
• Coordinate and communicate complex technical design details to technical, business and external partners
• Provide vision and strategy for BI environment including utilization of new technologies, functionality and best practices
• Partner with senior leadership to ensure that all efforts align with IT processes, departmental objectives and are communicated with team.
• Determine appropriate use of technology to ensure the systems enhance current business processes, operations, and information process flow. Drive system consolidation where possible and keep systems footprint manageable and cost-effective.
• Determine and manage ongoing data efficiencies including archiving, replication, ownership, and sharing
• Establish, contribute to and/or adhere to all key departmental operating procedures around governance, project management, software lifecycle management, change management and application security/ controls.
• Promote IT governance processes that ensure compliance with internal and external audit standards, procurement practices, and security standards.
• Coordinate with Operation and Support teams to ensure overall systems performance and effective monitoring and response times
• Manage the development of team members, including setting objectives, coaching, training and delivering performance reviews.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years experience working with BI specific tools including Informatica and Microstrategy
• 10+ years experience working on business intelligence and data warehousing projects
• Experience with traditional and/or iterative development methodologies
• Working knowledge of Data Warehouse Development Lifecycle methodologies
• Strong SQL experience and knowledge of relational databases
• Strong understanding of Microstrategy, Informatica and BizTalk
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Experience creating and executing comprehensive development plans including facilitating technical design meetings and decisions
• Experience with process and data modeling, analyzing business requirements and translating written architectural, design, and functional specifications
• Extremely organized with strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpretive skills, as well as the ability to effectively present, negotiate, influence, and build consensus
• Able to produce business results in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with strategic planning related to business intelligence and integration
