Purpose:

The Financial Analyst will oversee the financial analysis, forecasting, management reports and research for the IT department, which includes areas such as expense variance, depreciation, capital expenditures and labor. The Financial Analyst will be accountable for accuracy and distribution of financial analysis, forecasting, management reports and research, which includes areas such as expense variance, depreciation, capital expenditures and labor to ensure financial goals are met monthly, quarterly and annually.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for processing all IT invoices and month end close financial reporting to include gathering, validation and submittal of accruals to Accounting.
• Analytic review of OPEX and CAPEX spending and explanation commentary in regard to actual to budget, actual to forecast and actual to prior year comparisons of financial data on a monthly basis
• Lead the assessment to determine if financials goals will be met on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
• Provide consultative support to departmental management and key stakeholders through evaluation and understanding of how departmental financial information is integrated into the day-to-day operation
• Assist in preparation of budgets, short and long-term forecasts, trend analysis and expense accruals
• Lead in tracking of key performance indicators and elevate possible threats/risks, along with recommended actions
• Contribute information for various monthly journal entries and monthly financial close efforts in partnership with Corporate Accounting.
• Routinely compile and timely distribute standard monthly financial reporting of key performance indicators with observation commentary and ad hoc reports upon request.
• Assist IT leadership with inter-departmental collaboration (with functional managers, senior leadership, accounting and financial business partners)
• Lead the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for departmental financial reporting and processes
• Create new tools, processes and system integrations where needed to support business objectives and maximize efficiencies; SME for IT forecasting within Cognos/TM1

Job Requirements

• Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• 3+ years’ experience in general accounting, financial planning and management reporting
• Strong understanding of and experience in analytics, including forecasting & budgeting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working experience with Lawson, Cognos/TM1, Kronos, Clarizen a plus
• Confidence and ability to work with other functional groups at all levels
• High level of accuracy and objectivity
