Job Description


The Email Production Specialist is responsible for the hands-on coding, building and testing of customer-facing dynamic email communications within the department’s marketing automation tool, Salesforce. This position is expected to utilize both HTML expertise and email marketing best practices where applicable within the daily responsibilities.


• Under the direction of the Sr. Marketing Campaign Manager, serve as the point-of-contact for the Marketing Campaign Managers within the department for all email campaign build-outs
• Work closely with Campaign Marketing Managers to ensure on-time deliverables, including the communication of status, complications, developments and next steps
• Deliver production for all assigned email marketing campaigns and personalized landing pages (PURLs), which includes the comprehension of HTML templates, the build-out of communications and microsites using dynamic criteria settings, the QA testing of all content using test record data and the proper documentation of executed tasks
• Work closely with marketing automation system to utilize all available tools, resources and information to create best-of-breed emails and landing pages with campaign goals in mind
• Receive assets from in-house Creative Marketing agency, but work independently on production aspects
• Utilize knowledge and research of current email best practices to make suggestions in regard to design, layout, messaging and deliverability
• Setup A/B testing content for emails and landing pages
• Works with Campaign Marketing Managers to ensure brand, content and legal requirements are met for all campaigns
• Suggests email template and/or landing page usage when requested, modifies existing templates and/or landing pages when necessary and works on new digital designs with the in-house Creative Marketing agency when appropriate
• Maintains digital email and landing page archive libraries by individual marketing program and/or campaign.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in related field or equivalent education experience
• 2+ years hands-on email coding and production experience
• Fluency in HTML/CSS – proficiency in responsive email design and must understand cross-browser and front-end development issues
• Experience with enterprise email technology (Aprimo/Teradata, Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget, BlueHornet, Silverpop, Strongmail, etc.) preferred
• Knowledge of CAN-SPAM and e-mail regulatory compliance
• Understanding of email design and delivery issues within various platforms
• Knowledge of SQL is a plus
• Very high attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills
• Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
• Ability to multitask complex projects with general direction
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with effectiveness and efficiency
