Job Description

Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Public Relations, the Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist is all-encompassing and will help support Bluegreen’s internal/external communications strategy and goals, coordinate special events, liaise with PR agencies and media, activate CSR programming, and support the Head of PR with all overall departmental needs.

The PR and CSR specialist will be responsible for supporting and coordinating activities within the Public Relations and Communications department, including internal company events, media events and activations, as well as CSR programming. He/she will also help to create the company’s community footprint, including leading sponsorship and donation activities for maximum ROI, while supporting associate and Executive engagement.

This candidate must understand the fundamentals of Bluegreen’s PR Roadmap, build trust with agencies and media, support destination and regional PR programming, and liaise with internal/external clients by consistently demonstrating operational knowledge and adding-value to the overall department plans and goals


Responsibilities:

As a strategic member of Bluegreen’s Public Relations’ team, this role will:

• Support Head of PR with broad activities in the Public Relations and Communications’ function, including media relations, special events, community engagement, as well as agency programs and initiatives
• Assist with regionalized PR efforts and plan accordingly for each destination/market across all resorts
• Contribute to the overall development of the company’s philanthropic and community relations strategy
• Represent the company in all activities associated with volunteerism and help to form relationships in the foundation and business community
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward charities and corporations to support on behalf of Bluegreen
• Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets for all events and activations
• Participate as a member and administrative coordinator of the company’s Charitable Giving Committee and all related special events
• Coordinate the company’s News Desk postings, including writing and re-posting copy, as needed
• Create content for the company’s intranet, We Share, with daily content, and revamp and rebrand, as needed
• Solid writer who develops content and stories, letters, memorandums, press releases, and scribes weekly trade message, including collaborating with regional/in-destination PR teams
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Bluegreen’s media and CSR website to include updating information regularly
• Provide administrative support to the Public Relations and Communications teams, as needed
• Reconcile against an allocated budget for CSR or special events, as required
• Manages record of all media visits and clippings, as well as coverage trackers, and shares relevant assets with the organization
• Manages internal news bureau, broll library, press materials and press kit fulfillment, image/video assets, awards, Executive bios, and fulfill all media requests for press materials
• Manages creation, assembly, and maintenance of internal reports
• Leads the distribution of all approved press releases, photos and collateral internally, to Executive Committee members, as well as to PR agency
• Manage departmental weekly meeting agenda, calendar, and project trackers

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing or related field

Minimum of 2-4 years PR and/or Corporate Social Responsibility experience required
• Experience in developing relationships and networking with a wide variety of people, internal and external, to the organization.
• Experience in developing and managing partnerships, either non-profit or commercial organizations.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of projects and initiatives
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail; capacity to work independently or with others, foster creative ideas in a team environment, operate as a self-starter, multi-task meticulously, organize enthusiastically, work well under high pressure, and perform under tight deadline situations
• Able to demonstrate initiative in decision-making and problem-solving
• Excellent ability to motivate and engage associates and leaders in activities.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, including being a confident presenter.
