Purpose:

The Business Systems Analyst is an Information Technology professional at Bluegreen Vacations Corporation who is responsible for performing detailed systems analysis and developing requirements primarily for data integration efforts. This person’s focus will surround data centric efforts including but not limited to, system integration using API’s, data transformation projects and releases.

This individual is involved in many aspects of the project lifecycle, which may include requirements gathering, design, testing, training and implementation.

The Business Systems Analyst supports business partners in relation to their business needs and works closely with business partners and IT members to understand end-to-end business processes, the underlying datasets and their impacts on the systems.

The Business System Analyst will partner with the business team to gathering, clarifying, researching, analyzing and documenting requirements around the data domains in scope, perform in-depth analysis using SQL to lock-in requirements and provide the necessary artifacts to the development team. This person will serve as the technical SME to bridge the functional behavior of systems to the data needs that will drive the expected behavior.

This analyst often will partner closely with other analysts to deliver large scale project initiatives and will be responsible for setting the data centric expectations. This person is responsible for the technicalities of the solution and the downstream impacts it may cause. At any given time, this analyst will be engaged on more than one effort.

The Business Systems Analyst must coordinate communication and collaboration among internal and external technical resources in order to derive technical and functional solutions to address both tactical and strategic business issues and initiatives. Responsibilities include providing project team and business partners with status on initiatives, performing detailed data analysis and business process evaluation in efforts to improve current processes in place within both the business and technical communities and assist in implementing the solutions through the full lifecycle

Responsibilities:

• Works with business partners to obtain/define requirements
• Provides input to Project Manager related to project schedules and project status updates including identification of risk and escalation of critical issues
• Manages enhancement requests submitted by assigned business partners and see them through implementation
• Adheres to SDLC processes and ensure that all reporting or project tracking needs are met
• Develops and executes test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts as needed
• Works with other IT team members in resolving existing system and/or project related issues
• Coordinates end user acceptance and gather necessary approvals to migrate changes to the production environment
• Develops post implementation maintenance support procedures
• Maintains solid working knowledge of functionality of existing applications and systems
• Assists in research and evaluation of technical solutions to business related system issues to recommend most efficient and cost-effective solution considering existing systems, available technology, desired results, and business partner needs
• Documents and maintains detailed functional specifications from which system changes can be developed
• Ensures integration of automated business functions and their related data across impacted applications or tools
• Develops and maintains business process models and internal IT functional documentation for areas of responsibility
• Develops and maintains the API Catalog to assist in integration to internal and external partners.
• Develops good peer to peer working relationships with both internal and external business partners

Job Requirements

• 4 year Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field
• 2-4 years of professional experience in developing business requirements, functional specifications, user interface specifications and documenting process flows;
• 2-4 years of experience working in one or more of the following roles is highly desirable: Quality Assurance analyst, System Analyst, or Data Analyst with SQL query skills
• 2-4 years of experience working with web services and API's
• Functional Specification Documentation
• Business Requirements Gathering
• Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Project Management Lifecycle
• Excellent Written & Oral Communication Skills
• Knowledge of Database Concepts
• MS Office Suite
• SQL/Query Tools required
• Knowledge of SoapUI or other web service testing tools
• Knowledge of enterprise application integration and web services.
• Travel & Hospitality Experience desired but not required
• Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with limited supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) and present a professional image
• Ability to organize and conduct effective meetings
• Ability and desire to learn new technologies and software feature usage, often in a self-starting mode
• Must have a commitment to teamwork and customer service, and be able to perform well in a process-oriented, collaborative team environment
• Must have strong diagnostic and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Must be results oriented and have a track record of timely high-quality achievement of deliverables
