Job Description


The Business Analyst – IT (Agile) is responsible for performing analysis and developing business requirements. The Analyst is involved in many aspects of the project life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, training and implementation. The Analyst supports business partners in relation to their business application needs and works closely with business partners and IT members to understand end-to-end business processes. The Business Analyst is required to perform just-in-time business analysis by gathering, clarifying, researching, analyzing and documenting business requirements as provided by business partners for use in designing, integrating and implementing custom built or packaged software applications. They produce documentation outlining solutions to meet business needs, while being cost effective.

The Business Analyst coordinates communication and collaboration among internal and external technical resources to derive technical and functional solutions to address both tactical and strategic business issues and initiatives.


• Collaborates with Product Owner and business partners to obtain/define requirements.
• Participates in planning and estimating effort for requirements and recommends story development priorities.
• Partners with Product Owners and ensures that Release and Sprint backlogs are prioritized for the Scrum Team to deliver sprint to sprint.
• Ensures that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories to work on.
• Translates Product Owner / Product Manager visions into meaningful Epics and Stories so that the scrum team can incrementally deliver objectives.
• Researches, designs, and documents processes for the enhancement, development, and maintenance of business systems.
• Provides input to Scrum Master/Project Manager related to project schedules and project status updates, including identification of risk and escalation of critical issues.
• Develops and executes test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts.
• Develops post implementation maintenance support procedures.
• Maintains solid working knowledge of functionality of existing applications and systems, where applicable.
• Assists in research and evaluation of technical solutions to business related system issues to recommend the most efficient and cost-effective solution considering existing systems, available technology, desired results, and business partner needs.
• Documents and maintains detailed functional specifications from which system changes can be developed.
• Ensures the integration of automated business functions and their related data across impacted applications or tools.
• Develops and maintains business process models and internal IT functional documentation for areas of responsibility.

Job Requirements

Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field

4 - 6 years of professional experience in developing business requirements, functional specifications, user interface specifications and documenting process flows
2 - 4 years of experience working with Agile/Scrum
Experience managing Enterprise projects
Travel & Hospitality Experience desired but not required

Knowledge of SQL/Query Tools desired but not required
