Job Description


The Applications Architect provides leadership, expertise, guidance, and ALM/SDLC best practices related to software development across all applications and sites supported by Bluegreen. The Architect will have overall responsibility for the technical designs on which functional and non-functional requirements (which reflect the business needs of the enterprise) can be met. Additionally, the Architect will define the application components, platforms, interfaces, development tools, and testing approaches to be used across all development teams.

The Architect will also play a significant role in the selection of technologies and third-party software requested by the business to ensure that that they conform to the technology stack and overall strategy. They will work closely with the existing Integration Architect to ensure that solutions are adhering to our long-term strategy and following best practices which must be documented and updated regularly.


• Provides overall technical leadership to development teams and collaborating with architects, development teams, and the business to ensure solutions are developed with ALM best practices.
• Works with IT Operations in developing a DevOps strategy for the builds and deployment of software solutions including assisting in picking the right tools.
• Drives alignment and governance across the various architectural domains (e.g. Business, IT Ops, Security, Governance, etc.).
• Understands, advocates and supports the enterprise's IT strategy along with assisting in the development and implementation/realization of the various IT roadmaps.
• Responsibility for mentoring, coaching and advising development teams, and other roles that interface with development.
• Provides recommendations and solutions to senior IT leaders on best practices related to architecture along with influencing the organization to move towards the defined future state.
• Analyzes the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
• Analyzes the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise and its architecture.
• Leads the evaluation and selection of technologies standards and help implement governance processes to ensure enterprise alignment.
• Participates in the conceptual phases of identifying and solving business problems and initiatives, formulating an architectural vision to drive delivery
• Advises leadership about industry best practices, trends, and technology, which would influence the IT strategy
• Ensures processes are well documented and followed
• Collaborates closely with Developers to deliver high-quality solutions in a timely manner
• Participates in the Production deployment process as needed
• Validates adherence to applicable governance and compliance regulations and policies

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field
• 10+ years of IT/software development experience in either a software company or internal IT
• 5 to 8 years of architect experience across multiple technical domains
• 4+ years of Agile/SCRUM
• Experience using Sitecore CMS & Commerce
• Experience using TFS, Jira, Confluence or comparable tool and FootPrints or ServiceNow ticketing systems
• Extensive experience in application development frameworks, UX development, and optimization.
• Experience working with software/hardware vendors
• Travel & Hospitality Experience desired but not required
• .Net, SOA architecture, SOAP/REST, SQL Server, Responsive UI frameworks
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
• Application Lifecycle Management, SLC, Support, and DevOps
• Software deployment automation with tools such as Jenkins, Octopus,
• Business Requirements Gathering
• Traditional & Agile PM Methodologies
• MS Office Suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong diagnostic and analytical capabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
• Excellent verbal and written skills, with strong attention to detail
• Ability to identify issues quickly and facilitate discussion for resolution
• Ability to identify risks and develop proper mitigation plans
• Ability to prepare formal management presentations, organize and conduct effective meetings
