The Travel Consultant’s duties include, but are not limited to, answering and booking telephone sales calls for Bluegreen’s owned, managed and affiliate properties, as well as corresponding via e-mail with potential clients. Duties also include the responsibility for researching inventory and problem solving to ensure excellent customer retention and satisfaction. The minimum qualifications are high school diploma or its equivalent and one year of experience in the travel industry or in a related area. Must be able to handle multiple tasks. Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures utilized within the hospitality or related field. Must be able to rely on experience using resources and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

• Assisting guests with understanding and maximizing their vacation purchase, then securing and finalizing guest vacation reservation dates

• Ensure client expectations are met and surpassed by adhering to approved verification scripting and providing outstanding guest service

• Updating all systems of record, including Concierge, dialer & AS400

• Proper handling of the dialer system to maximize performance and productivity

• Adhere to daily schedule as assigned by leadership

• Have a thorough understanding, and keep up with changes to the Concierge and AS400 platforms, as well as all information required to effectively service the guest, including (but not limited to): vacation offers, promotions, destination information, DOP and policy changes

• Maximize vacation experiences by selling additional vacation enhancements, such as room upgrades, additional nights or retail experiences

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 6 months in a customer service or sales role

  • Microsoft Office, basic computer and phone skills, Type 35 WPM

  • Detail-oriented problem solver, with excellent negotiation skills and a keen ability to isolate and overcome objections. Professional and friendly demeanor. Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers from diverse backgrounds. Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to multi-task with computer and phone. Good organizational skills.
