Job Description

Purpose:


The Vacation Club Staff Accountant provides accurate and timely financial statements and other analyses to management to lend assistance for business decisions related to the operation of the Bluegreen Vacation, Inc (BVC), multi-site timeshare plan. This position prepares and reviews accounting journal entries and performs reconciliations. The Accountant assists with audits as requested, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal laws.

This position works closely with the Senior Accountant and Junior Accountant in charge of BVC.


Responsabilities:


• Provides accurate and timely financial statements.

• Analyzes and documents budget variances related to profit and loss statements.

• Prepares and analyzes all balance sheet reconciliations and resolves differences.

• Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally    accepted accounting principles

• Prepares and analyzes bank reconciliations

• Verifies accounts payable and accounts receivable postings

• Prepares cash management functions to sweep funds to the correct entities and escrow agent

• Researches and resolves outstanding accounts receivable balances

• Enters invoices into Coupa to pay vendors

• Assists in annual budget process

• Assists in the preparation of cash flow projections 

• Prepares year-end audit packages and interacts with internal and external auditors in completing     audits

• Participate in cross-training sessions to become familiar with all associations 

• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in written form, with other Bluegreen departments,     vendors, and other agencies

• Special projects and other duties as assigned


Requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of Accounting experience

• Knowledge of GAAP; outstanding skill level with MS Office Suite. Strong Excel. MS Access     knowledge is a plus.

• Independent, self-starter, strong analysis capabilities.  Strong interpersonal relationship and   communication skills to effectively communicate with resorts, vendors, co-workers, and other   agencies.

• Must be a team player.  Must be detail oriented. 

• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines. 

• Proven experienced at making sound, independent judgments within established policies and   procedures. 

• Ability to interact and collaborate with other managers, directors, and executives in the organization.
