Job Description

Tax Intern is responsible for clerical and general support for the tax department.

Duties for the tax department include, but are not limited to, assisting in the preparation of returns and forms, vouchering invoices, filing, copying, typing, preparation of correspondence, and mail sorting and distribution.

Tax Department Responsibilities:

• Prepare basic sales & use returns and tangible personal property tax returns
• Prepare vouchers for approval and submission to Accounts Payable
• Assist with the maintenance of the tax calendar
• Prepare various correspondence, spreadsheets, power point presentations, and reports as deemed necessary by the VP of Tax
• Maintain files, report binders and general supplies on a current basis
• Review and disseminate mail received on a daily basis
• Provide administrative support to tax department members on an as needed basis
• Copy, scan and file tax returns, forms and documents

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) and working toward Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 1 - 3 year’s at university working toward a Bachelor of Science in Accounting
• Computer literate in Microsoft office applications with working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
• Requires usage of email, communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
