As an Accountant you will be supervising all aspects of the accounts payable, financial, and accounts receivable for our Christmas Mountain Village Resort.  You will be reconciling bank statements, creating transfers & ACH, updating daily cash forecast, approving invoices, creating weekly payable aging, and assisting with night audit. Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end deliverables as well as any department objectives and account reconciliations.

Additionally, the Resort Accountant helps ensure the accuracy of vendor records and invoices and maintain a high-level of performance following standard operating procedures (SOP’s), step-by-step instructions in accordance with Bluegreen regulations. 

  • Supervises AP & AR functions, Accounting Staff and ensure internal audit standards.
  • Monitor records of inventory to control accuracy of supply distribution.
  • Develop trend analysis to aid in identifying opportunities in the operation.
  • Reconcile Month End AP Aging to General Ledger including confirming receipt of goods and services, ensuring accurate GL coding of invoices, obtaining proper approvals and verifying accuracy of accounting.
  • Review monthly financials with department heads and ensure variance explanations are well-documented and action plans are in place.
  • Prepare presentations for Resort Leadership that portray actionable conclusions.
  • Identify and address procedural problems and deficiencies impacting the consistency and timeliness of financial information.
  • Compile with internal audit SOPs and internal controls, and Audit petty cash weekly and timely submit month end reconciliation report to HOA Accounting.
  • Timely processing of invoices and preparation of corporate vouchers. Invoice intercompany or other Bluegreen entities and follow up on collection of balances.
  • Reconcile resort checking account weekly and submit reconciliation including copies of checks and invoices to HOA Accounting for reimbursement of account.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years of Accounting experience, or relevant field may be required.
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with operational, SOX and internal compliance audits a plus.
  • Experience managing, influencing and implementing SOP’s for multiple leaders.
  • Computer literate – must have the ability work across multiple accounting and finance reporting platforms, POS, and PMS programs.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. 
  • High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, when multitasking.
