JOB SUMMARY: 

You will be responsible for directing all functions in the Maintenance and Grounds Department; oversee all landscaping, physical structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, FFE, and preventative maintenance of the property. You will meticulously focus on safety, asset protection, and guest satisfaction. You will be directing the planning, organization, and management for the maintenance department and lead in the adherence of all Bluegreen Vacations SOP's, quality standards, policies, and local governmental regulations. 
 

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for our resort Shenandoah Crossing, which hosts 1600 acres, multiple structures including hotel lodge units, cabins, yurts and campgrounds with luxury RV pads Ancillary facilities include a general store, full-service restaurant, equestrian center and multiple pools.

  • Ensure all maintenance and public area SOP's are being followed as outlined. 
  • Accountable for the safe and efficient maintenance of the resort through proper supervision and management of maintenance, technical and public area staff. 
  • Assist as required in solving complex maintenance problems. 
  • Direct the implementation of maintenance plans with consideration to operational and budgetary constraints. 
  • Schedule and perform routine/preventive/emergency maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. 
  • Work with other department managers to schedule and coordinate inspections and repairs.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of maintenance staff. 
  • Responsible for supervising overall activities of maintenance and public area staff, including employee development through training, performance evaluations, and salary administration. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor all maintenance policies and procedures, inspections and schedules, and maintain logs and reports.
  • Manage and achieve all areas of budgets by implementing proper cost controls i.e. :purchase orders/inventory, reviews/bids, etc. 
  • Establish both short and long term budgets and forecasts for maintenance.  Display sound judgement in regards to managing cost control measures.
  • Provide outstanding guest satisfaction and courteous cooperation with fellow associates in all departments. 

YOUR EXPERIENCE: 

  • 4-year college degree and/or comparable industry experience and/or Technical Trade School education
  • 8+ years as a Maintenance Industry/Hospitality experience
  • 6 years in leadership capacity, preferable in timeshare 
  • CPO, OSHA 30, EPA Universal required or acquire certification(s) within 90 days of employment   
  • HOTSOS experience strongly preferred 
  • Preventive maintenance procedures required and certification within 1 year. 
  • Possess strong budgeting, scheduling, and communication skills 
  • Self-starter, work independently leads to high accountability, empathy, and fairness. 
  • VALID and CLEAN Driver's License record 
  • Able to work all shifts as needs dictate
