Job Description

Purpose:
The Account Assistant provides assistant to Bluegreen’s Accountants and Accounting management with daily operations and performing functions pertaining to cost accounting related transactions.

Responsibilities:
• Creates projects in the accounting system.
• Maintains project-related records, including contracts and change orders.
• Analyzes and reviews supporting documents for billing details, including the collection and tracking of lien releases both throughout the job and upon job completion.
• Audits subcontractor and supplier invoices, and schedule them for approval and payment.
• Investigates significant variances between actual and forecasted billings, in comparison to budget.
• Identifies budget variances in job cost forecasts and resolve related issues with the project management team.
• Closes out project accounts upon project completion, including audit and review of GMP and shared savings contracts and collection of final lien waivers.
• Audits and maintains vendor setup for all construction vendors in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Evaluates processes and procedures related to this position in the context of continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

• Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience with current enrollment in Accounting classes. A minimum of 2 years accounting experience preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced skills in Excel. Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be an independent, self-motivated individual who is able to meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must also be able to multi-task.
