DescriptionPurpose:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the technical implementation and support of server hardware, networking hardware, storage, appliances, and the installation, maintenance, administration, management, and configuration of server operating systems. The System Administrator collaborates with Project Managers and Application Development teams on projects requiring infrastructure support or migrations.

Responsibilities:

* Performs day-to-day maintenance and installation of server, network equipment, virtual machines, messaging, backups and storage.
* Develop and maintain detailed maintenance and contingency plans and documentation for server infrastructure.
* Perform routine server backups, and systems maintenance.
* Perform audits to ensure that all installed software is licensed and accounted for.
* Ensures compliance with uptime and performance standards and develops system and product benchmarking and monitoring.
* Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of hardware and software solutions.
* Monitor server event logs, performance logs, growth of data on the network, and checking the status of nightly server backups.
* Provide detailed project status reporting as directed by management.
* Receive assignments in the form of objectives, with the process for meeting those goals outlined. Work is reviewed on the basis of meeting objectives and schedules.
* Work on problems of diverse scope, where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
* Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
* Work on moderately complex assignments, using judgment to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.
* Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24 X 7 production support.
* Participation in planning and testing Disaster Recovery and Fail-Over exercises
* Effectively prevent outages and quickly troubleshoot problems that may lead to outages
* Must provide timely and accurate weekly status report updates with reliable information;
* Must ensure timesheets are submitted weekly before stated IT deadlines;
* Must ensure software licenses, certificates, and subscriptions are properly renewed and do not prematurely expire;
* Must strive to minimize system downtime and prevent unplanned or unscheduled outages;
* Must follow PCI-DSS, SOX, IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems are kept in compliance;
- Must ensure asset inventory is maintained with accurate and updated systems inventory;
* Must ensure all hardware and software is properly patched and updated per manufacturer guidelines;
* Must ensure all systems currently in use are backed-up and can be restored within SLO\SLA requirements;
* Must ensure all production hardware devices have valid maintenance and support contracts in place;
* Must ensure policies, procedures, diagrams, and other technical documentation is kept current and accessible;
* Must ensure no changes are made to any system without an approved change request work order in accordance with standard ITIL principles;
* Must ensure all IT work orders are closed in a timely manner or updated regularly to explain why they are not closed;
* Other duties as required

Requirements4-year degree or equivalent work experience

3 to 5 years of experience in Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012, Active Directory, IIS, Cisco UCS, MS Terminal Server, MS SQL Server, VMWare, Cast Iron, NetApp, and Tintri

Cisco, VMWare, and/or Microsoft certifications a plus. AWS or O365 experience or certification a plus. Hands-on experience with Linux.
Strong analytical, problem solving, issue resolution and documentation skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
